Season ticket holders for a night

My sister and brother-in-law splurged on Blazer season tickets this year - and that one act has singlehandedly brought about the return of Blazer mania to the entire Merritt family for the first time since the era of Clyde Drexler and Terry Porter. We turned out last night to see them in a solid win over the Los Angeles Clippers. Michael had Drew join him in their regular seats, so Hayley invited Mom and I to find alternate seats with her.

With no zoom utilized, this was the view from our seats. Nice.

We happened to be there the day of the Marcus Camby trade, so there he sat on the Blazer bench in street clothes - like three rows ahead of us - and was recognized on the big screen during a time out for some fan applause. Two images of the same moment...

Highlight of the evening: slapping the players' hands as they exited the arena after the game. I'm now proud to say I've swapped skin with Nicholas Batum, Juwan Howard, all-star Brandon Roy {below} and even our newbie Camby. He seemed a bit surprised to get such excited hands thrust toward his face...he shot us a big grin as he gave us high five. And I'll admit: we left a bit starstruck. =)

Did you make Drexler's drumsticks in honor of the event? :)

That is so fun! Wish I would have known you were there. Of course, then I would have been looking for you rather than watching the game. :)
