Relaxing together

Drew and I kept our few days in Victoria pretty low-key. We weren't out for excursions, really - just wanted to relax together in a place neither of us had ever been. We explored downtown on foot a bit and I went for a couple runs, but we spent a lot of time just chilling in the hotel room watching the Olympics. We did try out the 'must-see' Royal BC museum (a yawner, if we're being honest). But our highlight was probably high tea at the Fairmont Empress Hotel; Drew actually really enjoyed being a smidge fancy for that hour or so.

We took the Victoria Clipper in from Seattle. It left early in the morning, so we stayed the night with my friend Allison (and got to know her fiance, Mike...thanks for dinner, guys!)

The famous hotel sits right on the water.

On the Clipper, heading out. So long, Victoria!
You gave us a much-needed getaway.
