A fall ride

The first day of November proved to be a beautiful, crisp, sunny day. What better way to enjoy it than for Sydney to take her bike out for a spin around the neighborhood? Her tentative nature came at odds with her increasing desire to go "faster" - making for an interesting, herky-jerky pace. She loved it, though, and took her fun seriously. After an hour, I suggested we go inside and have some lunch. Her reply: "I'm just going to ride my bike for a little second. I can't think about eating right now."

I smiled and let her have her way. After all, a little girl has only so many autumn days to enjoy a bike ride.
