"We're not in Kansas anymore..."

We had high hopes of putting together the whole Wizard of Oz gang for Halloween, but as we lost her friends one by one to unforeseeable circumstances like costume problems, the Cowardly Lion contracting chicken pox, etc., Sydney emerged as the lone character: Dorothy, first-time braids and all. We took her around the neighborhood to trick-or-treat for the first time ever. Never mind the fact that she doesn't eat sugary treats yet; she was nevertheless fascinated by her growing stash in shiny packaging. She had absolutely no idea what was going on...I love that kid.

The focus of our costume

Sydney as "Dorothy", Tigist as "Tigger", and Grace as the tiniest yet most determined "OSU Beavers cheerleader" ever to don a costume
Tigist went right to work leading the way for Syd (remarkable since she's never been trick-or-treating either) =)

We learned a new word that night: "I got candy, mama!"

Marisa, I love these pictures. She is so cute, and I love the sweet friendship she already has with Tigist. You are such a good mommy and you have a beautiful daughter. Thanks for the note, also! It made my day.
