Up to the lake...

Last week was our first long vacation together as a family: Lake Chelan, Washington. Not only did we get to relax and enjoy the weather, but we also got to see a lot of friends and family along the way:
  • My college roommate, Amy, and her brand-new baby boy, Ephraim
  • Drew's Uncle David, Aunt Carla & cousin Dana
  • Drew's buddy John Smithwick from Richland
  • Our friends Nigel and Nicole and their little guy, Noah
  • Drew's parents, Doug & Lis
  • Drew's brother, Nick

And we took advantage of lots of activities:

  • Walking on the beach
  • Playing at the parks with the swings, teeter-totters, and Syd's personal favorite, the merry-go-round
  • Making genuine s'mores
  • Watching movies
  • Reading books
  • Fashioning Sydney's first dandelion wreath
  • Visiting the nearby coffeehouse
  • Shopping at Wal-Mart
  • Swimming
  • Playing putt-putt golf
  • Playing horseshoes

We had a great time together, and now it's nice to be home! Below are some of our favorite pics from the trip.

Sydney with Dana and Aunt Carla

What a stout, fierce Boscoe...keeping watch over a neighborhood that's not even his.

Nigel, Drew & Syd

Sydney and Noah are so cute together, getting hugs in whenever they can

Love the difference in their initial reactions to the swimming pool

One of my favorite photos ever of daddy and daughter

Reading with Grannie (the same eleven library books over and over and over...)

Doug showing his form in horseshoes

Vacations are so much fun! I love that area even though I don't get up there all that often. I like Sydney's dandelion wreath.
