We helped Luke Fuller celebrate his third birthday this weekend...nearly didn't make it, though. It was only thanks to Sydney's sharp eyes.
The party was held at this place called "Rainbow Parks" where I'd never been. Envisioning a greenspace of some kind, I blew right past it the first time. After pulling a u-turn to retrace our path, Sydney suddenly declared, "Yay, mommy, you did it! We found the park!" As I gave a half-hearted remark of agreement over my shoulder to placate her, my eye caught sight of brightly colored slides and I realized she was right. It was a custom playground equipment place. Duh, mom.
Sydney found the party. For crying out Christmas.

I cannot get over Luke's transformation from toddler to full-on little boy. SO evident.

This posting would not be complete without photos of the Satterfield kids face-deep in blue cupcake...

...yeah. Priceless.

Sydney literally did not want to stop for pizza with everyone else. There was simply too much empty playground for that. The park is her shrine lately - she just cannot get enough of it.

Katie and I have known each other for so long, we're nearing on our kids being the same age we were when we met. Crazy.

I love how Luke is buddy-gripping Ethan Unruh here, thanking him for his handmade card. A hint of grown-up camaraderie daddy Aaron might share with any of his own friends.

This image makes me flash-forward to a few years from now when Elijah will be all about the boy toys, too.
